ANNOUNCEMENT ON THE INFORMATION OFFICER EXAM
Dear Members,
1. The Information Officer Tourism Knowledge exam, foreign language written exam and foreign language oral exam to be held in accordance with Article 46 and following articles of the Travel Agencies Regulation will be organized by TÜRSAB (Association of Turkish Travel Agencies) on the dates specified below and under the conditions specified on its website (https://www.tursab.org.tr/, https://akademi.tursab.org.tr).
2. The exam fee is 3.000 TL and can be paid by credit card through the exam application screens.
a. The exam fee for authorized persons authorized to represent and bind travel agencies is 1,500 TL with a 50% discount. (At most 3 different authorized persons of each company have the right to participate in the free exam 1 time per person. Individuals who have benefited from the free exam right in the exams held in the previous periods and companies whose 3 authorized persons authorized to represent and bind in total have benefited from the exam free of charge cannot benefit from this exception)
b. For agency employees, the exam fee is 1,500 TL with a 50% discount. (Agency employees are required to upload the current dated QR code “SSI Registration and Service Transcript / Workplace Title List” document to the system, which they will obtain from E-Government in the exam application, and applications made with “Employment Entry Declaration” will not be accepted)
c. Due to the disaster centered in Kahramanmaraş and affecting 11 provinces (Adana, Adıyaman, Diyarbakır, Elâzığ, Gaziantep, Hatay, Kahramanmaraş, Kilis, Malatya, Osmaniye, Şanlıurfa), no exam fee will be charged from the authorized persons and employees of the travel agencies whose head office is located in the region.
3. Application Dates: April 2, 2025 - May 2, 2025 (Time: 23:59)
4. Applications will be made online by the participants through the TÜRSAB Academy website (https://akademi.tursab.org.tr)
5. The Information Officer Exam will be held online according to the schedule below:
- Tourism Knowledge Exam Date and Time (Online): May 10, 2025 (10:30)
- Foreign Language Written Exam Date (Online): May 24, 2025 (10:30)
- Foreign Language Oral Exam Date (Online): May 31, 2025 - June 1, 2025
6. Information Officer Tourism Knowledge Exam; General Tourism Knowledge, Tourism Geography, Tourism Economics and Marketing will be held in Turkish language and the exam consists of 50 questions. The exam duration is 60 minutes. Those who get 70 points and above from the exam and are successful will be able to work as an Information Officer in “C” group Travel Agencies. Those who pass the Information Officer Tourism Knowledge exam and also succeed in the Information Officer Foreign Language Written Exam and the Information Officer Foreign Language Oral Exam will be able to work as Information Officers in “A”, “B” and “C” group Travel Agencies.
7. Foreign Language Written and Oral Examination will be held in English, Arabic, German, Russian, Ukrainian, Spanish, French, Chinese and Bulgarian and the participants will be able to take the foreign language written and oral exam in the language they have chosen when they fill out the online application form. The written foreign language exam is evaluated out of 50 points and the oral exam is evaluated out of 50 points.
8. Persons who have completed 18 years of age as of the day of the exam can participate in the exam.
9. Documents to be uploaded to the system after completing the Online Application Form:
- Color passport photo taken within the last 6 months,
- Identity card or driver's license,
- If the agency is authorized to represent and bind, the most recent signature circular showing this information.
- If he/she is an employee of the agency, the current dated QR code “SSI Registration and Service Breakdown / Workplace Title List” document obtained from e-Government,
(Applications made with “Employment Entry Declaration” will not be accepted)
- Participants who have previously received an Information Officer Certificate of Achievement and wish to receive only a Foreign Language Certificate of Achievement are required to upload their Information Officer Certificate of Achievement to the system.
10. On May 24, 2025, in order to participate in the foreign language written exam to be held on May 24, 2025, at least 70 points must be obtained from the Information Officer Tourism Knowledge Exam.
11. Participants who have previously received an Information Officer Certificate of Achievement and wish to obtain only a foreign language certificate of achievement will not take the Tourism Knowledge Exam and must take the Foreign Language Written Exam and the Foreign Language Oral Exam.
12. In order to participate in the Foreign Language Oral Examination, which will take place on May 31, 2025 and June 1, 2025, a minimum score of 20 points and above (out of 50 points) must be obtained from the Foreign Language Written Examination.
13. Foreign nationals who will participate in the exam must present their work permits or residence permits. These persons must have a temporary Turkish ID number.
14. As of the exam date, payments made will not be refunded unless there is a force majeure event.
ONLINE APPLICATION PROCESS
1. Candidates who provide all the required documents must log in to the system by creating a user account on the TÜRSAB Academy web page via https://akademi.tursab.org.tr/register/ until 23:59 on May 2, 2025. Candidates who already have an account on the TÜRSAB Academy web page should log in to the system with their username and password at https://akademi.tursab.org.tr/signin/. Candidates who already have an account but do not remember their username and/or password can send a password renewal e-mail to the e-mail address they previously specified in the Forgot your password? field.
2. Candidates who log in to the system can access the application page by clicking on the “New Application & My Existing Applications” option and fill out the application form and add the required documents to the form with the upload options at the bottom of the form. (Images such as photograph, identity card, current Information Officer Success Certificate should be uploaded as JPG, and documents such as signature circular, SSI Registration and Service Transcript / Workplace Title List should be uploaded as PDF)
3. Completed applications will be checked by TÜRSAB Academy, applications with errors will be rejected and the candidate will be informed for correction, applications without errors will be pre-approved and candidates will be sent an e-mail with a payment link. This payment link can also be accessed via the TÜRSAB Academy web page. Candidates who receive payment information will complete the application process by paying the exam fee by credit card and wait for the exam day.
4. Since candidates must log in with their username and password on the TÜRSAB Academy web page on the exam day and time, it is important not to lose their account information.
5. For the Information Officer Tourism Knowledge Exam, which will be held online on May 10, 2025 at 10:30 on May 10, 2025, people will be able to start the exam by entering the system with the user password they have determined during their application. https://akademi.tursab.org.tr/signin/ The exam on May 10, 2025 will not be opened to candidates who have a previous Information Officer Success Certificate and who stated this during the application and uploaded the document.
6. Participants who score 70 and above in the Online Information Officer Tourism Knowledge Exam on May 10, 2025 will be eligible to take the Online Foreign Language Written Exam on May 24, 2025.
7. The links required to enter the written and oral exams will be shared with the candidates by the foreign language school organizing the exam.
8. After the Online Foreign Language Written Exam to be held on May 24, 2025 and the Online Foreign Language Oral Exam to be held on May 31 - June 1, 2025; Participants who score 70 points and above in the foreign language written exam (calculated out of 50 points) and oral exam (calculated out of 50 points) will be entitled to receive the “Information Officer Foreign Language” certificate. (Candidates who score below 20 points in the Foreign Language Written Exam are not entitled to participate in the Foreign Language Oral Exam)
9. Participants will be able to learn all exam results by following the announcements and logging in with their username and password on the TÜRSAB Academy web page. Likewise, users who are successful in the exams will be able to receive their certificates digitally and QR coded with this method. Documents are not physically provided. https://akademi.tursab.org.tr/signin/
10. Exam preparation training materials and question banks for candidates who will take the exam in accordance with Article 48 of the Travel Agencies Regulation are available on the “TÜRSAB Academy” web page in the “Information Officer Exam Online Preparation Trainings” area. These training materials are available free of charge for participants to prepare for the exam until May 9, 2025. https://akademi.tursab.org.tr/ws/enformasyon-memurlugu-online-hazirlik-egitimleri/ In addition, training materials are mandatory documents to be downloaded during the application for the exam, and the application process will not be completed without the relevant materials being provided by the candidates.
11. Since the Information Officer Tourism Knowledge Exam will be held online simultaneously for all participants; excuses will not be accepted unless there is a force majeure (unless documented with a report). Within 2 business days from the date of the exam, the force majeure must be documented and submitted to TÜRSAB Academy via e-mail. (akademi@tursab.org.tr) The fees of those who state force majeure will be refunded, and those who have taken the Tourism Knowledge Exam but have not taken the Foreign Language Written and / or Oral exam will not be refunded even if an excuse is stated. For candidates who have been successful in the Tourism Knowledge Examination in previous periods and will only take the foreign language exam in this period, the exam fee will be refunded if there is a force majeure that prevents them from taking the written exam.
12. Objections to the exam results must be submitted to TÜRSAB Academy via e-mail within 10 working days following the announcement of the results of the exam to be objected.
