Borusan Culture and Art Centre welcomes winter 2012 with an overwhelming events calendar. In this framework, the queen of operatic aria, soprano Elena Fink will take stage on 12 January 2012 at Lütfi Kırdar Convention and Exhibition Centre. Music wizard from jazz to funk and blues, Branford Marsalis will perform on 23 February 2012 at Lütfi Kırdar as well. Among all different myths regarding Phrygian King Midas, the best known is the one about his donkey ears. The opera King Midas will be on stage at the Lütfi Kırdar Center on 8 March 2012. Fusion of passion and percussion: Martin Gruber, reaching new musical dimensions with percussion instruments, will perform on 29 March 2012 also at the Lütfi Kırdar Center.
CerModern is ‘addressing’ cultural interaction!
Ankara s first modern art center CerModern will soon host an out of the ordinary event. Under the title Fiktion Okzident (Fiction Occident), the exhibition will follow the trail of the cultural interaction between Turkey and Germany by way of artistic creation. 18 artists from both countries will exhibit their sculptures, photos, videos, paintings and installations. Johannes Odenthal, Çetin Güzelhan and Emre Zeytinoğlu are the curators of this exhibition organized on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the agreement between Turkey and Germany on the recruitment of the so-called Turkish guest-workers. It will be open from 15 December 2011 until 29 February 2012.
