THE MONTHLY MEETING OF TÜRSAB’S GASTRONOMY TOURISM EXPERT COMMITTEE WAS HELD AT OUR HEADQUARTERS
The monthly meeting of TÜRSAB’s Gastronomy Tourism Expert Committee was held on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at TÜRSAB’s headquarters, under the coordination of M. Tümay İmamoğlu, Chair of the Gastronomy Tourism Expert Committee.
The meeting was attended by our Board of Directors members Gürkan Özcan and Özgür Ildır Öksüz, our Audit Committee member Yüksel Türemez, our Cultural Tourism Expert Committee Chair Hakan Çokgezen, our TOAR Chair Erdal Çeri, and our valued members.
During the meeting, while reviewing the latest information on the projects being carried out and recent developments in the Düzce and Balıkesir regions, new culinary routes that will contribute to the diversity of Istanbul’s culinary tourism and its street food scene were discussed. In this context, it was decided to include the Fatih district in the destination development projects currently underway in Istanbul and to carry out initiatives aimed at highlighting the district’s culinary assets. In addition, views were exchanged regarding new destinations where gastronomy tourism-focused initiatives are planned for 2027.
In addition to strengthening relations between TÜRSAB’s Regional Representative Boards and the Gastronomy Tourism Expert Committee and planning regional initiatives, assessments were conducted for businesses seeking to collaborate with our travel agencies. Discussions with publishing houses that publish gastronomy-related books were also on the meeting’s agenda. The meeting, during which assessments were made regarding the development of gastronomy tourism, the creation of new itineraries, the expansion of regional initiatives, and the strengthening of collaborations among industry stakeholders, concluded following contributions and feedback from the members.
We would like to thank all our members who participated.
