Board Members


Born in Istanbul. After receiving hotel and tourism education in Ankara, he completed his foreign language education.
He entered the tourism sector in 1980. He continued his tourism journey, which he started in the field of hotel management, in the field of travel agency. He crowned his success in this field with Detur. In 1995, with the Detur brand, he started bringing tourists from Russia, Finland, Norway, Sweden and Denmark. Becoming a strong tour operator in the Nordic countries, Detur brought more than 250,000 guests to our country annually.
He further made a name for himself with the important organizations he implemented. He led important international organizations in Turkey and Europe; such as the FIBA World Basketball Championship, the World Golf Championship and the Final Four European Basketball Championship.
In addition to his tourism work, he opened a new chapter by taking an active role in TÜRSAB. Between 2011-2014, he joined the TÜRSAB management and served as the second vice president for two consecutive terms. In March 2018, he spearheaded change at TÜRSAB (Turkish Association of Travel Agencies) and assumed the presidency. With the motto "We Need Change," he ran again in the 2020 elections, and with the slogan "Change Continues," he ran again in the 2022 elections, being re-elected in both general assemblies. His successful work and projects over the past seven years have enhanced TÜRSAB's reputation. He has contributed to tourism not only through his presidency of TÜRSAB but also through his work in various other institutions. Currently, in addition to his role as President of the International Congress and Exhibition Center (UKTAŞ), he continues to serve the sector as Vice President of the Executive Board of the Istanbul Convention and Visitors Bureau (ICVB), Member of the Board of Directors and President of the Board of Trustees of the Foreign Economic Relations Council (DEİK), Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Tourism Development and Education Foundation (TUGEV), and Member of the Travel Agencies and Guides Council of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB).


Born in 1969, he completed his business administration education at Erciyes University. He founded Tigris Tourism in 1997. He served as the President of the Board of Directors of TİT Business Partnership in the İzmir Universiade 2005 and Erzurum Universiade 2011 organizations. He worked as a Board Member in UKTAŞ, KOMER, and TURSAV. He served as a Board Member of TÜRSAB during its 21st and 25th terms. Currently, he serves as Vice President and Executive Board Member of TÜRSAB, President of the Board of Directors of Tigris Tourism, and Board Member of T. Maritime Enterprises. He speaks English and Japanese, is married, and has two children.


Born in Bursa on June 20, 1972, he graduated from Mersin University Faculty of Tourism in 1996. In 2000, he founded Burkon Tourism, which organizes national and international congresses and operates in the airline ticket sector as an IATA member. Between 2002 and 2005, Eker served as a lecturer in the Tourism Department at Uludağ University and was the founding President of the Bursa Tourism Platform. He currently serves as a member of the Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry Assembly and as Vice President and Executive Board Member of TÜRSAB (Turkish Association of Travel Agencies).


Born in Istanbul in 1982, Mert Vardar graduated from Istanbul Bilgi University's English Business Administration Department in 2005. During his student years, he gained significant experience and knowledge in the sector by working in the sales and operations departments of his family company, Jolly Tur, which formed a strong foundation for his professional life. Following graduation, Vardar, with his experience and management skills, actively participated in all operational processes of Jolly, making significant contributions to the company's growth targets and strategic planning. Appointed as Vice President of the Board in 2013, Mert Vardar added value to Jolly Tur's development with his innovative and visionary approach. In line with his contributions to Jolly, in 2020 he also received the title of CEO in addition to his Vice President of the Board role, and he continues to successfully hold both positions. He has also served as the Head of the Domestic Tourism Specialization Committee of TÜRSAB (Turkish Association of Travel Agencies) since 2022. Mert Vardar is married and has two children.


Born in Berlin in 1969, she graduated from the Tourism Department of the Faculty of Business Administration at Dokuz Eylül University in 1990. She completed his internships at leading hotels in Antalya during his studies. Between 1991 and 2009, for nearly 20 years, she worked as a sales and marketing manager at several 5-star hotels in Istanbul, and since 2009, she has continued his tourism career as the owner of Profession Tourism Travel Agency. She specializes in MICE-Incoming and Outgoing tourism segments. She is a member of Skal Istanbul and TUED Associations and previously served as a board member. She is married and has two children.


Born in Bursa in 1975, Cevat Engin Şahin completed his undergraduate studies in Civil Engineering at Gazi University. Following graduation, he ran his own business in the construction and software sectors for a period. In 2005, he entered the tourism sector with Akahan Tourism Travel Agency. To date, he has been active in organizing meetings, congresses, seminars, youth events, concerts, airline ticket sales, and Hajj and Umrah pilgrimages. In 2014, Şahin served as the General Secretary of the TÜRSAB Central Anatolia Regional Committee, and from 2018 to the present, he has served as the President of the TÜRSAB Central Anatolia Regional Committee. Fluent in English, Şahin is married and has one child.


Gürkan Özcan was born in Istanbul on August 18, 1969. He completed his education in Istanbul. He has been active in the tourism sector since 1994 and, as the President of the Board of Directors of She Tourism and Travel Agency, organizes daily city tours and boat tours for foreign guests in Istanbul. Since 2010, Özcan has held various positions in the TÜRSAB Istanbul Fatih Regional Representation Board, and since 2019, he has served as the President of the Istanbul Fatih Regional Board. Since 2023, he has been a member of the TURSAV Board of Directors. He has an intermediate level of English, is married, and has two children.


He was born in Diyarbakır in 1973. He graduated from the Polytechnic University of Azerbaijan with a degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. He served as the President of the TÜRSAB Diyarbakır, Southeastern Anatolia and Mesopotamia Regional Representation Board for four terms. He continues his tourism activities with Bimaş Tourism Travel Agency, which he founded in 2004. He currently works as a General Manager for the Turkish flag carrier airline in Iraq. He speaks English and Russian. He is married and has three children.


Born in Rize in 1970, he completed his primary, secondary, and high school education in Rize. He studied Tourism Management and Hotel Management at Erciyes University. Since 1990, he has held management positions in international companies operating in the tourism sector. In 2011, he founded his own company and continues his tourism agency activities by bringing tourists from abroad. A member of the Skal Antalya Club, Hamit Kuk has held positions in many tourism NGOs throughout his professional life. He currently serves as the President of the Tourism Committee of the Antalya Branch of the Anatolian Lions Businessmen Association (ASKON). From 2011 to 2019, he served as a Board Member, General Secretary, Vice President, and President of the Association of Travel Agency Managers. Hamit Kuk served as a member of the Tourism Committee of the Service Exporters Association from 2018-2021, a member of the Board of Directors of the Turkish Travel Agencies Association from 2019-2022, a member of the Board of Directors of the Tourism and Travel Agencies Foundation from 2020-2023, and a member of the Advisory Board and Chief Advisor to the President of the Turkish Travel Agencies Association from 2022-2025. A father of two, Hamit Kuk speaks English.

He was born in Van in 1973. After completing his primary and secondary education in Van, he continued his education in Antalya. He completed his studies in the Open University's Business Administration Department up to the second year, but his education ended due to his entry into the tourism sector. He entered the tourism sector in 1989 and worked in various travel agencies in different regions until 1994. With the start of golf tourism in Antalya in 1994, he entered this sector. He has been active in this field since 1994. He currently serves as the President of the Board of Directors of Millennium Golf, in addition to being a member of the Board of Directors of DEİK Ireland Desk. Uygun is married and has two children.


Born in Hamburg in 1970, Kıvanç Meriç completed his undergraduate studies in German Language and Literature at Ege University. He entered the tourism sector in 1989 and gained extensive experience in various roles within the industry over many years. In 2001, he founded his own company, İzmir Turizm, and continued his career there. Between 2005 and 2015, he provided DMC services to TUI France (Marmara). Since 2015, he has expanded his incoming services to markets in China, the UK, Africa, and the United States, playing a significant role in international tourism.
As part of his sectoral responsibilities, Meriç, a member of İzmir SKAL, has served as a member of the İzmir Chamber of Commerce Assembly; he has also held the positions of General Secretary, Vice President, and President (in the 24th and 25th terms) at TÜRSAB İzmir RRB. Married with two children, Kıvanç Meriç is fluent in German and English.


She was born in Adana. She graduated from Cappadocia University's Guiding Department and Iskenderun Technical University's Tourism, Hotel Management, and Guiding Department. In 2015, she founded Asaria Tourism. She served as the Vice President of the TÜRSAB Domestic Tourism Tour Operators Committee, first as Secretary and then as Vice President of the Cultural Tourism Specialization Committee. She also served as the President of the Gastronomy Tourism Association's Brand Cities Committee, a member of the Antakya Gastronomy Association's Board of Directors, a member of the TOBB Hatay Women's Executive Board, President of Antakya Defne Rotary, a member of the Hatay Solidarity Association's Board of Directors, and a member of the TÜRSAB 25th Term Disciplinary Board. She is a member of the TÜRSAB Board of Directors and a Beşiktaş Congress Member, and is married with two children.


Born in Istanbul in 1981, Şebnem Urgancıoğlu completed her secondary and high school education at TED Karabük College and her university education at Bilkent University, School of Applied Foreign Languages, Department of Banking and Finance. Between 2015 and 2016, she further developed her expertise in gastronomy by receiving professional culinary training at the Culinary Arts Academy. She entered the tourism sector as a business manager, overseeing the restoration of historical mansions belonging to family businesses and their conversion into boutique hotels. For many years, she managed Gökçüoğlu Mansion and Marmelat Cafe within ASTAŞ Tourism. Since 2004, she has been the company manager at All Seasons Tours&Travel, a Group A travel agency, focusing on corporate travel and meeting organization. She also manages the "Safranbolu Şerbetçisi" brand, which is patented and owned by the company. Şebnem Urgancıoğlu supports her work in the fields of tourism and gastronomy with various civil society roles such as Vice President of TÜRSAB Gastronomy Tourism Specialization, Member of TÜRSAB Western Black Sea Regional Committee, President of SAFTİD, General Secretary of TURKODER, and Board Member of the Safranbolu Culture and Tourism Foundation; she plays an active role in the development of Safranbolu's cultural, gastronomic, and tourism values.


Born in 1974, he is a graduate of Istanbul Technical University's Geophysical Engineering department. He has worked in management roles in the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) tourism sector since 1998. Since 2014, he has been the founder and President of the board of VİA TRANSPORT and New World Travel PROGO travel agencies. He currently continues his professional life as the President of the Board of New World Travel. He served as the Head of the Road Tourism Specialization Committee of TÜRSAB (Turkish Association of Travel Agencies) during its 24th term. Kerem Serkan Çoban, who also serves as a consultant for the National Camping and Caravan Federation, is married and has one child.


Born in Sakarya and originally from Eskişehir, Özgür Ersoy completed his associate degree in Tourism and Hotel Management at Balıkesir University, followed by a bachelor's degree from Anadolu University's Faculty of Business Administration and a master's degree in Travel Management and Tourist Guiding at Osmangazi University. He entered the tourism sector in 1998 with an internship at an IATA-accredited travel agency, where he actively participated in domestic and international organizations and held management positions from 1999 onwards. In 2018, he continued his entrepreneurial journey by establishing his own boutique travel agency. A founding member of SKAL Eskişehir in 2009, Ersoy served as the President of TÜRSAB Eskişehir RRB during its 24th and 25th terms. Currently, he serves as a member of the Eskişehir Chamber of Commerce Assembly, a member of the Anadolu University Advisory Board, and a member of the Board of Directors of the Eskişehir Health Thermal Alternative Tourism Association.


Yeşim Yeşiltaç is a graduate of the Public Relations Department at Kültür University. She began her career in the tourism sector as an operations manager at Fest Travel; subsequently, she gained experience in FIT operations and private tour management at prominent brands in the sector such as Travelzone and Jules Verne. Specializing in content creation, tour planning, sales development, and operations management, Yeşiltaç is the founder and manager of Trades Turizm, offering comprehensive travel solutions to individual and corporate guests. She has strengthened her agency's international connections through collaborations with international destination representatives, airlines, and global partners; and has played an active role in numerous promotional activities, including Mauritius FAM Trip projects and participation in industry fairs. As of 2025, Yeşiltaç serves as the Vice President of the TÜRSAB Foreign Tourism Specialization Committee and as a Reserve Member of the TÜRSAB Board of Directors.


Born in Ürgüp/Nevşehir in 1980, Erhan Falay completed his education in Cappadocia and then gained international tourism experience by working in Australia for six years. Since 2011, Falay has been running a travel agency, providing incoming services to guests from various countries, primarily the Australian market. With his experience in many areas such as accommodation, transportation, hot air ballooning, and regional tour operations, he continues to contribute to the development of Cappadocia tourism. Currently managing Authentic Holidays, which operates in the region, Falay continues his efforts to strengthen Cappadocia's tourism value in the international market.


Born in Trabzon, İbrahim Değermenci completed his education there. He began his career in the banking sector, later shifting his focus to real estate. While engaged in trade in Antalya, he became acquainted with the tourism sector. Recognizing a need in his hometown, he began working in this field in 2014. Currently, he manages a tourism agency based in Trabzon, focusing particularly on strong incoming tourism to the Middle East market. In addition to the agency, which operates in many locations across Turkey, primarily Trabzon, Istanbul, and Antalya, he is also actively involved in hotel management, real estate, construction, automotive, and event organization sectors. Alongside his commercial activities, Değermenci participates in numerous social responsibility projects and has held positions in various organizations. He has also served two terms as Vice President of the TÜRSAB Eastern Black Sea Regional Representation Board.
