TURKISH AIRLINES TK PRESENTATION HELD AS PART OF THE 4TH TÜRSAB TOURISM CONGRESS
The 4th TÜRSAB Tourism Congress, held in Antalya from April 6–8, 2026, under the motto “Education, Communication, and Solidarity,” continued with a presentation of Turkish Airlines’ (THY) new fintech (financial technology) platform, TK-Pay, following the opening ceremony.
TK-Pay General Manager Mustafa Ekmen, in his presentation, noted that the platform is THY’s youngest venture and subsidiary, emphasizing the importance they place on fintech-focused initiatives that deliver financial products through technology. “We are developing payment technologies in fintech. We are, in fact, a regulated sector like banking," said Ekmen; he noted that THY’s digital channels receive over 400 million visits annually and handle a card payment volume exceeding 7 billion dollars.
Noting that the travel sector is a significant industry with a revenue capacity exceeding 65 billion dollars and hosting over 45,000 potential merchant partners, Ekmen mentioned that the individual wallet app simplifies refund processes and allows earned miles to be loaded into this system. Noting that they have held meetings with stakeholders to identify the sector’s needs, he recorded that the fintech share in payments within the travel sector stands at 2.5%, lagging behind other sectors.
Highlighting that the corporate wallet they developed is tailored for travel agencies, Ekmen mentioned that it offers advantages such as ease of reconciliation, reporting, and payment via credit and debit cards, as well as virtual POS capabilities. He concluded his presentation by stating that the system, whose pilot phase has been completed, is now ready for use by all travel agencies.
