BRANCH CLOSURE APPLICATION

PROCESS

A travel agency requesting branch closure must first apply to our Association with the petition and documents specified below so that a new operating license can be issued according to its new status.

The file completed by TÜRSAB regarding the branch closure application is forwarded to the Ministry. The file regarding the branch closure forwarded to the Ministry is reviewed by the Ministry. If any deficiencies are found as a result of the review and evaluation by the Ministry, TÜRSAB is notified to complete the deficiencies. If the request is deemed appropriate, an Official Approval is prepared for the issuance of a document according to the new status of the agency. After the Official Approval, a travel agency operating license is issued according to the new status of the agency.

The issued travel agency operating license is sent to the relevant Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism to be delivered to the applicant.

PENAL SANCTIONS

Article 17 of Law No. 1618 on Travel Agencies and the Travel Agencies Association: "The owners of travel agencies, authorized managers on behalf of the board of directors in legal entities, shall notify the Ministry in writing within 30 days of the occurrence of any changes in the matters stated in their petitions and mentioned in their operating licenses. Subparagraph (2) of paragraph (a) of Article 27 of the same Law states: It stipulates that any violation of Article 7, 17, 19, or 21 of this Law or subparagraphs (c), (ç), or (d) of Article 10 shall be punished with an administrative fine.

Therefore, a travel agency that fails to report the closure of a branch within the specified time period shall be subject to an administrative fine pursuant to subparagraph (2) of paragraph (a) of Article 27 of Law No. 1618.

In cases where registration is not required or cannot be made at the Trade Registry Directorates, a notarized copy of the decision of the competent authority regarding the relevant change.

1. When will the deposit held by the Ministry be refunded upon branch closure?

The deposit belonging to the branch will be refunded one year after the branch closure process is completed.
