BRANCH CLOSURE APPLICATION
PROCESS
For a travel agency that has requested a branch closure to be able to issue a new business license based on its new status, it is necessary to apply to our Union with the petition and documents listed below.
Once the file regarding the branch closure has been completed with TÜRSAB, it is sent to the Ministry. The file regarding the branch closure sent to the Ministry is examined. If any deficiencies are found during the examination and evaluation carried out by the Ministry, TÜRSAB is notified to complete the deficiencies. If the request is deemed appropriate, a Council Approval is prepared for the issuance of a travel agency business license based on the agency's new status. After the Council Approval, a travel agency business license is issued according to the agency's new status.
The issued travel agency business license is sent to the relevant Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism to be delivered to the applicant.
PENAL SANCTION
Article 17 of the Law on Travel Agencies and the Union of Travel Agencies No. 1618 states: "The owners of travel agencies, authorized managers on behalf of the board of directors in legal entities, shall inform the Ministry in writing within 30 days from the date of the change regarding the matters written in the petition and mentioned in the business licenses". The subparagraph (2) of paragraph (a) of Article 27 of the same Law stipulates that if a violation of Article 7, 17, 19, or 21 or subparagraphs (c), (ç), or (d) of Article 10 is detected, an administrative fine shall be imposed.
Therefore, a travel agency that fails to report the branch closure within the specified period will be subject to an administrative fine under subparagraph (2) of paragraph (a) of Article 27 of Law No. 1618.
