A MEETING WAS HELD WITH AMERICAN-BASED TRAVEL AGENCIES TO DISCUSS TURKEY AND KONYA TOURISM ISSUES

To promote Turkey's tourism potential and the prominent values of Konya, we came together with the delegations of THY and Konya Municipality and US-based travel agency owners. 

Turkish Airlines Tour Marketing Manager Abdullah Yormaz, Turkish Airlines Domestic Sales and Coordination Manager Cüneyd Doğruer, Turkish Airlines Domestic Bodrum Sales Manager Hatice Yurtsever, Konya Metropolitan Municipality Tourism Branch Manager Coşkun Bilgi and US-based travel agency owners participated in the meeting; Turkish Airlines, Konya Metropolitan Municipality and TÜRSAB officials made comprehensive presentations on Turkey's tourism attraction, cultural heritage and Konya's unique touristic values.

Mr. Numan Olcar, Chief Advisor to the President of TÜRSAB and Airline Ticket Sales and IATA Specialization President, informed about the role and activities of TÜRSAB in the tourism sector and answered the questions of the participants.

THY team shared Turkey's historical and cultural heritage, seasonal advantages, and important UNESCO World Heritage Sites with the participants, while Mr. Coşkun Bilgi, Tourism Branch Manager of Konya Metropolitan Municipality, introduced the city's tourism capacity, transportation facilities, historical sites, and traditional events under the title of “Konya, the City of Rumi”. Konya's symbolic tourism values such as Şeb-i Arus ceremonies, Çatalhöyük, Sema performances, Konya Open Air Museum, Eşrefoğlu Mosque, and Nasreddin Hodja Tales, which were one of the focal points of our meeting, were discussed in detail.
