REPRESENTATIVES OF MAJOR TOUR OPERATORS OPERATING IN TURKEY MET WITH MEMBERS OF THE PRESS AT A MEETING CHAIRED BY OUR BOARD CHAIRMAN, FIRUZ BAĞLIKAYA

Representatives of major tour operators serving in Turkey came together with members of the press at the consultation meeting organized at our TÜRSAB General Headquarters under the chairmanship of our Board of Directors President, Firuz Bağlıkaya.

At the meeting, the proposed legislation regarding foreign digital travel platforms—which is expected to be added to the agenda of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey’s General Assembly—was discussed, and tour operators shared their views and assessments regarding the regulation.

Tour operator representatives emphasized the importance of ensuring that all domestic and foreign actors operate under equal conditions, maintaining a fair competitive environment, and safeguarding consumer rights. Sector representatives emphasized that they are not against digitalization and global competition; their main expectation is equal rules and equal responsibilities for everyone in the tourism sector.

We believe that necessary measures will be taken by considering all these risks posed by the regulation, which directly concerns the future of Turkish tourism and our travel agencies; we continue our efforts with determination to protect the rights and interests of our sector.
