ANNOUNCEMENT ON 20% DISCOUNT ON HEALTH SERVICES FOR TURKISH CITIZENS IN EGYPT AND TRAVEL HEALTH INSURANCE

Dear Members,

In a letter sent to our Association by the Directorate General for Bilateral Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, information was provided regarding discounts available to Turkish citizens visiting Egypt for healthcare services and important considerations regarding hospital payments.

According to the information received from our Embassy in Cairo;
· 20% Health Service Discount: The Egyptian General Health Authority has approved a 20% discount on health services provided to Turkish tourists in Authority hospitals, excluding medications and medical supplies, in accordance with the regulations for incoming patients and medical tourism.
· The Importance of Travel Health Insurance: Due to the visa-on-arrival application in Egypt, mandatory insurance documents are not required during the visa process. However, considering the high treatment costs in Egypt, it is stated that our citizens traveling without travel health insurance face high expenses in case of possible health problems.

In this context, it is recommended that our citizens traveling to Egypt through tours or individually obtain effective and comprehensive travel health insurance to prevent possible grievances.
