ANNOUNCEMENT ON THE "ANTANDROS EXCAVATIONS AND FOLLOWING IN AENEAS'S FOOTSTEPS" PANEL

Dear Members,

Under the organization of our Culture Tourism Expert Committee, a panel titled "Antandros Excavations and Following in Aeneas's Footsteps" will be held on Friday, October 16, 2026, at 14:00 at the TÜRSAB Headquarters.

In the panel where the Head of the Antandros Excavation, Prof. Dr. Gürcan Polat, a faculty member of the Department of Classical Archeology at Ege University Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Prof. Dr. Yasemin Polat, and the President of the Antandros Association, Zekiye Gülçin Cömert, will be speakers, the archeological excavations and research conducted in the ancient city of Antandros and the historical and cultural significance of the city will be discussed.

Within the scope of the panel; the archeological findings uncovered in the Antandros excavations, the historical background of the ancient city, its location in the Troas Region, and traces of the Aeneas narrative will be evaluated in light of archeological data; information will be shared on the value of Antandros in terms of cultural tourism.
