A PRESENTATION ON THE TURKISH REPUBLIC OF NORTH CYPRUS / ISLAND CYPRUS WAS HELD AS PART OF THE 4TH TÜRSAB TOURISM CONGRESS
The third and final day of sessions at the 4th TÜRSAB Tourism Congress began with a presentation introducing the “AdaKıbrıs” project, which reflects the digital tourism vision of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). During the session held on Wednesday, April 8, Mine Emiroğlu, General Director of the Tourism Promotion and Marketing Department at the TRNC Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth, and Environment, shared the project’s details and the island’s future tourism strategies with industry stakeholders.
The presentation, which analyzed the “AdaKıbrıs” project—aimed at promoting the TRNC’s natural, cultural, and historical riches to international platforms through a sustainable approach—addressed the effective use of digital channels, SEO efforts, and experience-focused marketing strategies. The session highlighted travel conveniences such as visa and passport exemptions in the Turkish market, as well as the advantage of a climate with 300 days of sunshine, while emphasizing the island’s rich culinary and cultural tourism potential rooted in its 10,000-year history.
The presentation, which evaluated the importance placed on eco- and agro-tourism within the sustainable tourism master plan, alternative models that preserve local lifestyle and culture, and the diversity of accommodation options, concluded with significant interest from the participants.
