AMBASSADOR OF THE REPUBLIC OF CHILE TO TÜRKIYE, MR. RODRIGO ARCOS, AND CHILE DELEGATION VISITED TÜRSAB CENTRAL OFFICE

The Ambassador of the Republic of Chile to Ankara, Türkiye, Mr. Rodrigo Arcos, and his delegation visited TÜRSAB Central Office on Monday, June 16, 2025.

During the visit, the existing cooperation opportunities between Turkiye and Chile in the field of tourism were evaluated, and ideas were exchanged about new trends in the sector and future joint projects.

The meeting was attended by our Vice President Davut Günaydın, Board Member Yıldırım Taş, Director of Specialization Presidencies and Corporate Events Ceylan Yiğiterhan, and our TÜRSAB committee on behalf of our Association. The Chilean delegation included Ambassador Rodrigo Arcos and PoChile - Chile Trade Office Representative in Turkiye Özge Tüysüzoğlu Garate, as well as leading Chilean tourism representatives.

Ambassador Arcos noted that this was the first time Chilean travel agencies had organized a promotional event in Turkiye and emphasized that 2026 would mark the 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Turkiye and Chile. Arcos stated that Chile stands out for its tourist attractions, accommodation quality, and gastronomy, and said that increasing Turkish Airlines' Istanbul-Santiago flights would have a positive effect on tourism. Davut Günaydın drew attention to Turkiye’s tourism potential and stated that Chile should be promoted more in Turkiye. At the meeting, it was decided to organize more online and face-to-face events to strengthen communication and increase cooperation between travel agencies in the two countries.
