“EDIRNE KAKAVA AND HIDIRELLEZ FESTIVITIES” STARTED WITH GREAT ENTHUSIASM

“Edirne Kakava and Hıdırellez Festivities”, hosted by Edirne Municipality with the contributions of our Trakya Regional Representative Board, started with great enthusiasm.

Our President of the Board of Directors Firuz Bağlıkaya, Governor of Edirne Mr. Yunus Sezer, Mayor of Edirne Ms. Filiz Gencan Akın, Ceribaşı Mr. Fikri Ocak made opening speeches and MPs, President of Edirne Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ETSO), local executives, artists and members of the press attended the festival.

In his opening speech, Mr. Bağlıkaya emphasized the importance of Edirne Kakava, a 1400 years old tradition, and Hıdırellez Festivities, which are included in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity List, in terms of regional tourism and talked about the goals of our Tourism Century Project.

We would like to thank Mr. Yunus Sezer, Ms. Filiz Gencan Akın, Mr. Egemen Aydın, President of Trakya RRB and RRB Board of Directors and everyone who contributed to the organization of the festival for this valuable organization that announced the brand value of Edirne to all of Turkey.
