GÖKOVA SESAME: WORKSHOP ON BRANDING FROM SEED TO MARKET WAS ORGANIZED
A workshop was organized in collaboration with the South Aegean Development Agency (GEKA) and the Muğla Chamber of Commerce and Industry to promote the branding of Gökova sesame and evaluate sustainable models.
The workshop, which aimed to highlight the economic, gastronomic, and cultural potential of Gökova sesame, one of the region's important agricultural values, was attended by Hakan Çokgezen, Deputy President of Gastronomy, representing our Association.
Topics such as geographical indication, the role of producer cooperatives, sustainable agricultural practices, and the positioning of local products in the national market were discussed. At the meeting, where there was consensus that Gökova sesame could be evaluated beyond the local market in the fields of gastronomic tourism and exports, Hakan Çokgezen stated that local products could be transformed into a value-added and global brand with the right strategies, and that Gökova sesame had more than enough potential for this.
