OUR TÜRSAB COMMITTEE VISITED ISTANBUL DEPUTY GOVERNOR MEHMET SÜLÜN AT HIS OFFICE
Our TÜRSAB committee, including our Vice President of the Board of Directors, Davut Günaydın, Istanbul Fatih RRB President Gürkan Özcan, Middle East Tourism Specialization President Metin Duyar, Middle East Tourism Specialization President Hasan Yazıcı, and Highway Tourism Specialization President Halil Koldemir, joined the delegation. They visited Deputy Governor Mehmet Sülün, responsible for tourism, at his office in Istanbul.
During the meeting, issues that will contribute to the development of Istanbul's tourism sector were comprehensively discussed. Our TÜRSAB committee presented a detailed dossier containing assessments from sector representatives.
During the visit, the importance of redesigning the designated "Tourism Buses" hop-on/hop-off area in front of the Spice Bazaar to accommodate all tourism vehicles was emphasized. The current signage should be updated from "Tourism Buses" to "Tourism Vehicles," and similar areas should be established in high-traffic areas such as Üsküdar, Ortaköy, Taksim, and Sultanahmet. Views were exchanged on streamlining passport control processes for foreign visitors taking guided tours in the Spice Bazaar and Taksim areas. The need for strengthened inspections and practices to prevent harmful activities that cause discomfort to tourists was also discussed.
