THE TÜRSAB COMMITTEE HELD A MEETING WITH İBB REPRESENTATVES ON THE HISTORICAL PENINSULA TRANSPORTATION ACTION PLAN

TÜRSAB Board Member Gürkan Özcan, Fatih Regional Representation Board President Okan Cem Başusta, and former Board President Deniz Emin Tüfekçi held a meeting with Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Representatives regarding the Historic Peninsula Transportation Action Plan.

Representing the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality at the meeting were Pelin Alpkökin, Deputy Secretary General of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, Melda Horoz, Director of Transportation Planning, and Hüseyin Gazi Coşan, Director of Tourism.

At the meeting, the work carried out with the aim of pedestrianizing the Sultanahmet area for tourists and making it easily accessible and reachable was evaluated. Topics discussed included facilitating access to Sultanahmet via rail systems, highlighting historical and natural heritage sites, and establishing a pedestrian-priority, integrated, and comprehensive transportation system.
