TÜRSAB 26TH TERM GASTRONOMY TOURISM SPECIALIZATION DEPARTMENT PRESIDENCY MEETING WAS HELD
The first meeting of the TÜRSAB 26th Term Gastronomy Tourism Specialization Department was held in a hybrid format on Wednesday, March 4, at TÜRSAB Central Office building, leaded by the Specialization Department President Mehmet Tümay İmamoğlu.
The meeting was attended by the Vice President of the Board of Directors Davut Günaydın, Board Members Tülay Salihoğlu, Gürkan Özcan, Mehmet Akyıl, and Özgür Ildır Öksüz, President's Advisor Ertan Demirbaş, Cultural Tourism Specialization President Hakan Çokgezen, TOAR Specialization President Erdal Çeri, Gastronomy Tourism Specialization Vice Presidents Cem Balsun and Sevinç Akdoğan, TURSAV General Manager Çetin Gürcün, and members of the Specialization Presidency.
The meeting began with the introduction of the 26th term members and continued with assessments on the growing importance of gastronomic tourism in Turkish tourism. Discussions focused on strategies for preserving Anatolia's rich culinary heritage, incorporating local products into tour programs, and introducing traditional culinary culture to wider audiences. In addition, efforts to maintain the standards of traditional flavors, monitor product registration processes, and bring these values to visitors through “gastronomy stops” were evaluated.
Furthermore, while reviewing the regional gastronomy reports prepared last year, preparations for festivals, symposiums, and tasting events planned for the coming period were discussed. The meeting concluded after gathering the opinions and suggestions of the members.
