TÜRSAB COMMITTEE HELD A MEETING WITH THE CONSUL GENERAL OF SPAIN IN ISTANBUL AND THE CONSUL GENERAL OF FRANCE IN ISTANBUL

On 9 January 2024, TÜRSAB Committee held a meeting with Consul General of Spain in Istanbul, Ms. Ana M. Menendez Perez and Consul General of France in Istanbul, Mr. Oliver Gauvin.

During the meetings attended by our Vice President Davut Günaydın, Board Member Esra Başeskioğlu and Corporate Relations Group President Nergis Büyükkınacı, the problems experienced in visa issues in Spain and France were discussed.

At the meeting with the Consulate General of Spain, our committee requested support in opening group appointments for tour buyers, determining an additional quota especially for fair participants and enabling them to apply without an appointment, and meeting with BLS, the authorized agency of the Consulate General of Spain, to resolve the problems experienced by the consulate.

In the meeting held with the Consulate General of France, it was stated that the details of the problems experienced will be received from all regional agencies and a report will be prepared and forwarded to the consulate. The Consulate General informed that visa applications should be made 1 month in advance in order to meet the tour start date, and that as of January 20, a completely individual application system will be adopted and agencies will not be able to apply for visas on behalf of tour purchasers.
