TÜRSAB'S 26TH ORDINARY GENERAL ASSEMBLY OPENS WITH HIGH ATTENDANDE
TÜRSAB's 26th Ordinary General Assembly began at the WOW Istanbul Hotel Convention Center with the participation of numerous high-ranking officials from the public and private sectors, as well as executives from tourism industry unions and associations. At the opening ceremony, Mr. Adil Karaismailoğlu, President of the Turkish Grand National Assembly's Public Works, Zoning, Transportation, and Tourism Commission, stated that TÜRSAB will continue to guide the sector with its strong vision that defines the framework of the country's tourism sector in the field.
In his speech, TÜRSAB President Firuz Bağlıkaya emphasized the Association's half-century-old, deeply rooted structure, drawing its strength from its members, and emphasized the central role of travel agencies in the tourism sector. Bağlıkaya said, "Tourism is a delicate art practiced by people who feel. As long as tourism exists, so will travel agencies, and as long as travel agencies exist, so will tourism." Bağlıkaya stated that travel agencies are the main force bringing tourists to the country and that they aim to expand the "Century of Tourism" project, which they have launched to prevent tourism from being confined to seasonal and regional boundaries, across the country. He also stated that Law No. 1618 should be renewed and the sector law drafted in collaboration with stakeholders. He emphasized the significant role of transportation investments in tourism's success and thanked President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Adil Karaismailoğlu.
Bağlıkaya concluded his speech by thanking all the guests who attended the General Assembly and the travel agencies from across Turkiye. He declared, "There is no goal we cannot achieve together," and called for unity and solidarity. Following the election of the General Assembly, discussion of activity and audit reports, and evaluation of the internal regulations and budget, the General Assembly will continue with the appointment of new management, audit, and disciplinary boards through elections to be held on November 23rd.
