A PANEL ON “DESTINATION MANAGEMENT” WAS HELD AS PART OF THE 5TH BURSA TOURISM SUMMIT
The “Destination Management” panel, organized as part of the 5th Bursa Tourism Summit, was moderated by BUSAT Founding President Op. Dr. Mustafa Esgin.
In the session featuring our Vice President Davut Günaydın, TÜRSAB’s Chief Legal Advisor Attorney İlker Ünsever, Uludağ Area Director Candemir Zoroğlu, and Prof. Dr. Asım Saldamlı, Head of the Department of Tourism Management, as panelists; the session addressed the topics of managing destinations in a planned and sustainable manner, integrating local values into tourism, strengthening inter-institutional cooperation, and ensuring that the benefits derived from tourism are distributed throughout the region.
In his speech, Davut Günaydın emphasized that, despite the tensions in our region, Turkey has maintained a strong position in the tourism sector, and he highlighted that travel agencies have played a major role in this success.
İlker Ünsever, for his part, said that tourism is about people in a region sharing their culture and way of life with others, and noted that the growth of local tourism is directly proportional to the progress of the local people.
The panel also emphasized the importance of leveraging Bursa’s natural, historical, and cultural riches through a holistic approach to destination management, and participants shared views and recommendations aimed at enhancing the city’s competitiveness in the tourism sector.
