A PANEL ON “EXPERT PERSPECTIVES ON TOURISM IN LOCAL DEVELOPMENT” WAS HELD AS PART OF THE 5TH BURSA TOURISM SUMMIT

The panel discussion titled “Expert Perspectives on Tourism in Local Development,” held as part of the 5th Bursa Tourism Summit, was moderated by our Board Member Gürkan Özcan. Tümay İmamoğlu, Chair of the Gastronomy Tourism Expert Committee; Şehnaz Askeroğlu, Chair of the Health Tourism Expert Committee; Gürkan Akün, Chair of the Convention Tourism Expert Committee; and Hakan Çokgezen, Chair of the Cultural Tourism Expert Committee, shared their insights on their respective areas of expertise with the participants.

During the session, participants discussed the role of gastronomic tourism in supporting local production and culinary culture; the potential of health tourism to generate high added value; the contribution of conference tourism to sustaining activity throughout the year; and the role of cultural tourism in transforming the city’s historical heritage into economic value. The importance of developing specialized products that will increase Bursa’s tourism diversity was emphasized in terms of the sustainability of local development.
