THE MONTHLY MEETING OF THE HEALTH TOURISM EXPERT COMMITTEE WAS HELD

The monthly meeting of the Medical Tourism Expert Committee was held on Friday, September 4, 2026, at the TÜRSAB Headquarters, under the coordination of our Committee Chair, Şehnaz Atak Askeroğlu.

The meeting was attended by our Board Member Gürkan Özcan, our Vice Chairs of the Medical Tourism Expert Committee, and members of the Expert Committee.

The main agenda items of the meeting included: a review of the 2027 trade show calendar; managing negative perceptions and addressing negative and inaccurate coverage of health tourism in the international press; current challenges facing the sector and proposed solutions; and priorities and areas for collaboration for the coming period.

At the meeting, opportunities for enhancing the promotion and visibility of the medical tourism sector both nationally and internationally were discussed. Views and recommendations aimed at ensuring the sector is represented more effectively on international platforms were evaluated.

At the meeting, which also addressed the sector’s current challenges and proposed solutions, participants assessed the initiatives to be prioritized in the coming period as well as potential areas of collaboration with sector stakeholders and relevant institutions.
