THE SCHOOL TOURS COMMITTEE MEETING WAS HELD AT THE TÜRSAB HEADQUARTERS
A meeting of the School Tours Committee, which operates under TÜRSAB’s Cultural Tourism Expert Committee, was held at TÜRSAB’s headquarters under the coordination of Committee Chair Ferhat Günbay, with the participation of TÜRSAB Board Member Gürkan Özcan, Audit Director Yusuf İncili, and representatives of travel agencies active in the field of school tours.
During the meeting, a general assessment of the 2026–2027 school tour season was conducted, and the operational, legal, and industry-related issues experienced during the previous season were discussed. Measures to prevent unregistered and unauthorized school tour organizations, age criteria for vehicles with B2 and D2 licenses, the use of “gray passports” on international school tours, professional competency criteria, and standards for student safety were evaluated.
A significant portion of the meeting—during which potential joint initiatives with the Ministry of National Education and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey, as well as proposed solutions for the sector, were discussed—consisted of a question-and-answer and consultation session addressing the questions, opinions, and requests of industry representatives. In this context, Board Member Gürkan Özcan, School Tours Committee Chair Ferhat Günbay, and Audit Director Yusuf İncili answered questions from travel agencies and shared their insights and assessments on the relevant topics.
We would like to thank our valued members who attended the meeting and contributed their opinions, questions, and suggestions.
