TÜRSAB CULTURAL TOURISM AND GASTRONOMY TOURISM SPECIALIZATION BOARDS HELD A JOINT MEETING AT THE ANCIENT CITY OF ANTANDROS

The regular monthly joint meeting of TÜRSAB Cultural Tourism and Gastronomy Tourism Specialization Boards was held in a hybrid format at the Ancient City of Antandros in Balıkesir, under the chairmanship of Cultural Tourism Specialization Board President Hakan Çokgezen and Gastronomy Tourism Specialization Board President M. Tümay İmamoğlu.

The meeting was attended by TÜRSAB Board Member Özgür Ildır Öksüz; Çanakkale–Balıkesir BTK President Fatih Ergün; Balıkesir Provincial Director of Culture and Tourism Neslihan Vurucu; Deputy Provincial Director of Culture and Tourism Erdinç Bayram; Head of the Urban History Department of Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality Derya Solak; Secretary General of Edremit Chamber of Commerce Recep Akgün; President of the Antandros Association Gülçin Cömert; Tourism Vision Writer Gözde Uzun; Körfezde Haber columnist Mehmet Ene; Anadolu Agency Regional Correspondent Hakan Firik; as well as our vice presidents of specialization boards and members.

During the meeting, evaluations were made regarding the events organized by our Specialized Chairs. Additionally, Balıkesir’s cultural and culinary tourism was discussed from the perspective of travel agencies, with a focus on promoting the region as an experience-oriented destination; the contributions of existing culinary festivals; and public–private sector collaborations were also assessed. Following the meeting, participants also attended the Havran Tourism Workshop to exchange views on the region’s tourism potential.
