ANNOUNCEMENT ON SRI LANKA’S FREE TOURIST VISA POLICY FOR TURKISH CITIZENS

Dear Members,

Embassy of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka in Ankara has informed TÜRSAB via a letter;

The Government of Sri Lanka has launched a free tourist visa program for citizens of the Republic of Türkiye via the Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) system.

Under this program, effective May 25, 2026, Turkish citizens will be able to apply for a free tourist visa (ETA) valid for 30 days for short-term visits for tourism purposes.

Citizens traveling to Sri Lanka are required to obtain a free Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) via the website https://eta.gov.lk prior to their arrival in the country.

It is expected that this initiative will contribute to increasing tourism between Türkiye and Sri Lanka.
