ANNOUNCEMENT ON THE BRSA APPLICATION REGARDING THE LIFTING OF VIRTUAL POS RESTRICTIONS

Dear Members,

In order to promptly put an end to the recent measures imposed on travel agencies regarding the use of virtual POS systems—measures that directly restrict their commercial activities—our Association has submitted a formal written application to the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BRSA) through the relevant authorities.

In our application:
•    The vital importance and indispensable nature of virtual POS infrastructure for our members’ collection operations were emphasized,
•    It was stated that current restrictions cause disruptions in operational processes, thereby harming travel agencies’ competitive strength in the international market,
•    It is highlighted the necessity of reassessing and improving legislation and regulations in light of the sector’s needs.

We respectfully inform you that we are closely monitoring this matter at the highest level to ensure the prompt resolution of sectoral grievances and the sustainability of our members’ digital payment systems.
