ANNOUNCEMENT ON THE FIRST DEGREE ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITE OF THE UNDERGROUND CITY OF SARAY

Dear Members,

In the letter sent to our Association by Nevşehir Governorship, Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism,

It was unanimously decided that the Saray Underground City, located in Nevşehir Province, Central District, Çardak Village and in the unregistered (DHTA) area with parcels 186, 187, 192, 193, 193, 194, 194, 195, 196, 209, 210 and 211 belonging to private individuals, be registered as a Grade 1 Archaeological Site within the scope of the Cultural and Natural Heritage Protection Law No. 2863 and the relevant legislation, and that the city be closed to visitors for the safety of life and property,

For this reason, in terms of the safety of life and property in the Underground City, it has been reported that touristic visits to the Saray Underground City in Çardak Village should not be made for touristic purposes, as there are complaints about the organization of touristic visits and tours.
