ANNOUNCEMENT ON THE INFORMATION OFFICER EXAM

Dear Members,

The Association of Turkish Travel Agencies (TÜRSAB) will organize the Information Officer Exam in accordance with Article 46 et seq. of the Travel Agencies Regulation. The exams consist of three stages: Tourism Knowledge, Written Foreign Language, and Oral Foreign Language. All procedures and exams will be conducted online.

Exam Schedule

• Online Application Dates: November 3, 2025 – November 30, 2025 (Until 11:59 PM)
• Tourism Knowledge Exam (Online): December 6, 2025 (10:30 AM)
• Foreign Language Written Exam (Online): December 13, 2025 (10:30 AM)
• Foreign Language Oral Exam (Online): December 20-21, 2025

Exam Fees and Discounts

• General Exam Fee: 3,000 TL.
• Discounted Fee: For authorized representatives and binding agents of travel agencies and agency employees, the exam fee is 1,500 TL, with a 50% discount.
• Note: A maximum of three authorized representatives and binding agents of each company are entitled to one free exam per person. Those who have previously taken advantage of this opportunity may take advantage of the discounted fee.
• Fee Exemption: No exam fee will be charged to authorized representatives and employees of travel agencies with headquarters in the 11 provinces affected by the earthquake centered in Kahramanmaraş (Adana, Adıyaman, Diyarbakır, Elazığ, Gaziantep, Hatay, Kahramanmaraş, Kilis, Malatya, Osmaniye, and Şanlıurfa).

Application Requirements and Required Documents

To participate in the exam, you must be at least 18 years of age on the exam date. The following documents must be uploaded to the TÜRSAB Academy system during the application process:

• For All Candidates:
• Color passport-sized photograph taken within the last 6 months (JPG format).
• Identity card or driver's license (JPG format).
• For Agency Representatives:
• The most recent signature circular demonstrating this authority (PDF format).
• For Agency Employees:
• A current, QR-coded "SGK Registration and Service Record/Workplace Title List" document (PDF format) obtained from e-Government. (Applications submitted with a "Declaration of Employment" will not be accepted).
• For Foreign Language Exam Only:
• A previously obtained Information Officer Certificate of Achievement.
• For Foreign National Candidates:
• Work or residence permit.
• Temporary Turkish Republic Identification Number.

Online Application Process

1. Account Creation/Login: Candidates must create a user account at https://akademi.tursab.org.tr or log in with their existing account by 11:59 PM on November 30, 2025. Those who have forgotten their password can use the "Forgot your password?" option.
2. Filling Out the Form: After logging in to the system, fill out the application form in the "New Application & My Existing Applications" section and upload the required documents.
3. Approval and Payment: Applications will be reviewed by TÜRSAB Academy. Any incorrect applications will be returned to the candidate for correction. For approved applications, a payment link will be emailed to the candidate; this link can also be accessed through the system. Payment is made by credit card and the application is completed.

Exam Content, Assessment, and Certification

1. Tourism Knowledge Exam:

• Content: This is a 50-question exam covering topics such as General Tourism Knowledge, Tourism Geography, Tourism Economics, and Marketing. The exam language is Turkish.
• Duration: 60 minutes.
• Success Requirement: A minimum score of 70 is required.
• Certification: Successful candidates are eligible to work as Information Officers in Group "C" travel agencies.

2. Foreign Language Written and Oral Exams:

• Languages: This exam is administered in the language chosen by the candidate during the application process: English, Arabic, German, Russian, Ukrainian, Spanish, French, Chinese, and Bulgarian.
• Participation Requirements: Those who score at least 70 on the Tourism Knowledge Exam are eligible to take the Foreign Language Written Exam.
• Evaluation:
• The written exam is graded out of 50. Those who score at least 20 on the written exam qualify for the oral exam.
• The oral exam is graded out of 50.
• Success Requirements: If the combined written and oral exam scores are at least 70, candidates are eligible to receive the "Information Officer Foreign Language Achievement Certificate."
• Certificate: Those who pass the Tourism Knowledge Exam and also pass the foreign language exams can work in Group "A," "B," and "C" travel agencies.

Special Circumstances

• Candidates who have previously received the Information Officer Certificate of Achievement but only wish to take the foreign language exam will not be eligible to take the Tourism Knowledge Exam. These candidates simply upload their current documents to the system during the application process.

Exam Preparation Materials

• Training materials and question banks for exam preparation are available on the TÜRSAB Academy website under the "Information Officer Exam Online Preparation Training" section.
• These materials can be accessed free of charge until December 5, 2025.
• Downloading these materials is mandatory during the application process, and the application cannot be completed without completing the download.

Other Important Information

• Exam Login: Candidates will log in to the TÜRSAB Academy website with their username and password on the exam day and time to begin their exam. Login links for foreign language exams will be shared with candidates by the language school administering the exam.
• Results and Documents: Candidates can view and download all exam results, including their digital and QR-coded certificates if successful, from the TÜRSAB Academy portal. Physical documents will not be sent. Force Majeure and Refunds:
• Force Majeure and Refunds:
• Exam fees will be refunded only if there is a force majeure reason preventing the exam and proven by official documentation, such as a report. Excuse documents must be submitted to TÜRSAB Academy via email within 2 business days of the relevant exam date.
• Candidates who fail to take the Foreign Language exams after taking the Tourism Knowledge Exam will not receive a refund, even if they have a valid excuse.
• Exception: Candidates who have passed the Tourism Knowledge Exam in previous semesters and will only take the Foreign Language exam this semester may receive a refund if they are unable to take the Foreign Language Written Exam due to force majeure.
• Objections: Objections to exam results must be submitted to TÜRSAB Academy via email within 10 business days of the results being announced.
