ANNOUNCEMENT ON THE INFORMATION OFFICER EXAM
Dear Members,
1. The Information Officer Tourism Knowledge Exam, the foreign language written exam, and the foreign language oral exam, to be conducted in accordance with Articles 46 and subsequent provisions of the Travel Agencies Regulation, will be organized by TÜRSAB (Association of Turkish Travel Agencies) on the dates specified below and under the conditions outlined on the website (www.tursab.org.tr, https://akademi.tursab.org.tr).
2. The exam fee is 4,000 TL, and the relevant amount can be paid via credit card through the exam application screens.
- For authorized representatives of travel agencies, the exam fee is 50% discounted, amounting to 2,000 TL. (Each company is entitled to a maximum of 3 different authorized representatives, each of whom may take the exam for free once. Individuals who have previously availed themselves of the free exam benefit in past exams, and companies where a total of 3 authorized representatives have already taken the exam for free, are not eligible for this exception)
- For travel agency employees, the exam fee is 2,000 TL with a 50% discount. (When applying for the exam, agency employees must upload the up-to-date, QR-coded “SGK Registration and Service Summary/Workplace Title List” document obtained from e-Government to the system; applications made using the “Employment Notification” will not be accepted)
- Due to the disaster centered in Kahramanmaraş that affected 4 of our provinces (Adıyaman, Hatay, Kahramanmaraş, Malatya), no exam fee will be collected from the authorized representatives and employees of travel agencies whose main branches are located in the region.
3. Exam Application Dates: June 15, 2026 – July 13, 2026 (Time: 11:59 PM)
4. Applications will be submitted online by participants via the TÜRSAB Academy website. (https://akademi.tursab.org.tr)
5. Information Officer Exam will be conducted online according to the following schedule:
- Tourism Knowledge Exam Date and Time (Online) : July 18, 2026 (10:30 AM)
- Foreign Language Written Exam Date (Online) : July 25, 2026 (10:30 AM)
- Foreign Language Oral Exam Date (Online) : August 1–2, 2026
6. Information Officer Tourism Knowledge Exam; The exam will be conducted in Turkish and cover subjects such as General Tourism Knowledge, Tourism Geography, Tourism Economics, and Marketing. It consists of 50 questions. The exam duration is 60 minutes. Those who score 70 points or higher on the exam and pass will be eligible to work as Information Officers at “C” group Travel Agencies. Those who pass the Information Officer Tourism Knowledge Exam and also demonstrate success in the Information Officer Foreign Language Written Exam and the Information Officer Foreign Language Oral Exam will be eligible to work as Information Officers at “A,” “B,” and “C” group travel agencies.
7. The Information Officer Foreign Language Written and Oral Exams will be conducted in English, Arabic, German, Russian, Ukrainian, Spanish, French, Chinese and Bulgarian. Participants will be able to take the foreign language written and oral exams in the language they selected while filling out the online application form. The written foreign language exam is scored out of 50 points, and the oral exam is scored out of 50 points.
8. Individuals who have turned 18 by the date of the exam are eligible to participate.
9. Documents required to be uploaded to the system after completing the Online Application Form:
- A recent color passport-style photo taken within the last 6 months,
- Identity card or driver’s license,
- If the applicant is an agency representative with authority to bind the agency, the most recent signature circular confirming this authority.
- If the applicant is an agency employee, a current, QR-coded “SGK Registration and Service History/Workplace Title List” document obtained from e-Government is required. (Applications submitted using the “Employment Registration Form” will not be accepted.)
- Participants who have previously obtained an Information Officer Success Certificate and wish to obtain only a Foreign Language Success Certificate must upload their Information Officer Success Certificates to the system.
10. To be eligible to take the foreign language written exam scheduled for July 25, 2026, a minimum score of 70 must be obtained on the Information Officer Tourism Knowledge Exam.
11. Participants who have previously obtained an Information Officer Certificate and wish to obtain only a Foreign Language Certificate will not take the Tourism Knowledge Exam; instead, they must take the Foreign Language Written Exam and the Foreign Language Oral Exam.
12. To be eligible to take the Foreign Language Oral Exam, which will be held on August 1–2, 2026, candidates must score at least 20 points (out of 50) on the Foreign Language Written Exam.
13. Foreign nationals taking the exam must present their work permits or residence permits. These individuals must have a temporary Turkish ID number.
14. Unless a force majeure event occurs by the exam date, payments made will not be refunded.
ONLINE EXAM PROCESS
1. Candidates who have provided all required documents must create a user account on the TÜRSAB Academy website via https://akademi.tursab.org.tr/register/ and log in to the system by July 12, 2026 at 11:59 PM. Candidates who already have an account on the TÜRSAB Academy website must log in to the system using their username and password via the link https://akademi.tursab.org.tr/signin/ . Candidates who previously had an account but cannot remember their username and/or password can click the Forgot your password? link to send a password reset email to the email address they previously provided.
2. Candidates who log in to the system can access the application page by clicking the “New Application & My Current Applications” option, fill out the application form, and submit their application by attaching the required documents using the upload options below the form. (Images such as photos, ID cards, and the Information Officer’s Certificate of Achievement must be uploaded as JPG files, while documents such as the Signature Circular, SGK Registration and Service Record, and Workplace Title List must be uploaded as PDF files)
3. Once completed applications have been reviewed by TÜRSAB Academy, any applications with errors will be rejected, and the applicant will be notified to make corrections. Once applications without errors have received preliminary approval, candidates will be sent an email containing a payment link. This payment link is also accessible via the TÜRSAB Academy website. Candidates who receive payment instructions will complete the application process by paying the exam fee with a credit card. Candidates whose transactions have been completed will await the exam date.
4. Since candidates must log in using their username and password via the TÜRSAB Academy website on the exam date and time, it is important that they do not lose their account information.
5. For the Tourism Information Officer Exam, which will be held online on July 18, 2026, at 10:30 AM, candidates will be able to start the exam by logging into the system with the user password they set during the application process. https://akademi.tursab.org.tr/signin/ Candidates who previously held an Information Officer Certificate of Achievement and indicated this during the application process by uploading their certificate will not be granted access to the exam on July 18, 2026.
6. Participants who score 70 or higher on the Online Information Officer Tourism Knowledge Exam scheduled for July 18, 2026, will be eligible to take the Online Foreign Language Written Exam scheduled for July 25, 2026.
7. The links required for access to the written and oral exams will be shared with candidates by the foreign language school organizing the exam.
8. Following the Online Foreign Language Written Exam on July 25, 2026, and the Online Foreign Language Oral Exam on August 1–2, 2026; candidates whose combined total of the foreign language written exam (scored out of 50) and the oral exam (scored out of 50 points) total 70 points or higher will be eligible to receive the “Information Officer Foreign Language” certificate. (Candidates scoring below 20 points on the Foreign Language Written Exam are not eligible to take the Foreign Language Oral Exam)
9. Participants can check all exam results by logging in with their username and password via the TÜRSAB Academy website, following the announcements. Similarly, successful candidates can obtain their certificates digitally and with a QR code using this method. Physical copies of the documents are not provided. https://akademi.tursab.org.tr/signin/
10. In accordance with Article 48 of the Travel Agencies Regulation, exam preparation materials and question banks for candidates taking the exam are available on the “TÜRSAB Academy” website under the “Information Officer Exam Online Preparation Courses” section. These training materials are available free of charge until July 17, 2026, to help participants prepare for the exam. https://akademi.tursab.org.tr/ws/enformasyon-memurlugu-online-hazirlik-egitimleri/ In addition, these educational materials are considered mandatory documents that must be downloaded during the exam application process; the application process will not be completed unless the relevant materials are obtained by the candidates.
11. Since the Tourism Knowledge Exam administered by the Information Office will be conducted online simultaneously for all participants, excuses will not be accepted unless there is a force majeure circumstance (documented with a report). In the event of a force majeure circumstance, documentation must be submitted to TÜRSAB Academy via email within 2 business days of the exam date. (akademi@tursab.org.tr) Fees will be refunded to those who provide proof of force majeure; however, no refund will be issued to individuals who took the Tourism Knowledge Exam but did not take the Foreign Language Written and/or Oral Exam, even if an excuse is provided. For candidates who passed the Tourism Knowledge Exam in previous periods and are taking only the foreign language exam this period, the exam fee will be refunded if there is a force majeure preventing them from taking the written exam.
12. Appeals regarding exam results must be submitted to TÜRSAB Academy via email within 10 business days following the announcement of the results of the exam in question
