ANNOUNCEMENT ON THE PERMISSION CERTIFICATE TO BE OBTAINED FOR THE GEOGRAPHICAL DATA USED BY OUR TRAVEL AGENCIES IN THEIR WEBSITES AND APPLICATIONS

Dear Members,

We have received an official letter from the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, General Directorate of Geographic Information Systems in response to our request for information on the obligation to obtain Geographic Data Permits Certificate based on the Law No. 7221 on Geographic Information Systems and Amendments to Certain Laws.

The activities, websites and geographic data usage status of our travel agencies have been examined and as a result of this examination, it has been understood that some of our members use geographic data (e.g. Address, Building, Transportation Networks) within the scope of the National Geographic Data Responsibility Matrix in their websites and application software, and;

It has been reported that our members who use the aforementioned geographic data in their web and application software should be informed and that they can make their applications through the application portal http//vize.csb.gov.tr.
