THE LAWSUIT AGAINST TÜRSAB AND TURSAV BOARD MEMBERS RESULTED IN ACQUITTAL

Dear Members,

Claiming that donations were forcibly collected to TURSAV Foundation during the establishment of Travel Agencies, criminal complaints were made to the Public Prosecutor's Office 4 times by the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Culture and Tourism directly and by the General Directorate of Foundations affiliated to the Ministry on the basis of the same issues and events, and the Public Prosecutor's Offices closed the investigations by deciding that there was “No Place for Prosecution” in 3 of these criminal complaints, and as a result of the 4th application, a criminal case was filed against some of the members of the Board of Directors of TÜRSAB and TURSAV. 

As a result of the lawsuit filed at Istanbul 35th Criminal Court of First Instance within the scope of the crime of “Abuse of Duty”, “In the public lawsuit filed with the allegation that the defendants acted contrary to the requirements of their duties and forced the agencies to make donations by delaying or not performing the transactions of the agencies that did not donate to the foundation, thus committing the crime of abuse of duty, taking into account that the defendants did not accept the accusations, and that the witnesses heard by our court and by instruction declared that they did not donate under coercion in their sworn statements, it was concluded that the contrary of the defendants' defenses could not be proven. ”, a verdict of BERAAT was given for all defendants.

As a result of the trial, the legality of our Association's incentives and suggestions regarding the membership of TURSAV Foundation has been confirmed and our belief that TURSAV Foundation will be strengthened by expanding the number of its members with the support of travel agencies in the future has increased.

We hereby once again invite travel agencies to become a member of our Foundation.
